Additional Information
John Hutchinson attended the Lauriston (west of Kyneton) State School. He was a member of St. Pauls Church of England. On the news of his death, the bells at the church tolled for ten minutes.
Address at time of enlistment 23 Giffard St, Williamstown, a boarding house owned by Mrs Robert Hansen. From this house six men enlisted, including two of Mrs Hansen's sons.
John Hutchinson sailed on the First Convoy of 38 ships which departed from Albany, Western Australia on 1 November 1914.
John Hutchinson's name is on the Kyneton War Memorial.
