Prior to enlistment Clive Atkinson was employed at his Uncle Dr Harry Leigh Atkinson's estate, Bendigo, Vic.
His brother was H L Atkinson, Cecil St, Williamstown (Dentist, 149 Ferguson St, Williamstown, Vic).
The Footscray Chronicle reported that Clive's brothers: Albert, Ivo enlisted in Australia and Vernon enlisted in England. Sister, Beatrice Atkinson was an ambulance driver in England and his Mother was a Red Cross Nurse.
