Additional Information
Herbert Meatchem attended North Williamstown State School.
He served his apprenticeship with Gibbons Implement Works, Footscray and was employed at the shipbuilding yards when he enlisted.
His brother, Thomas Henry (1033 and 6122) enlisted in September 1914, was medically discharged (Thrombosis) in September 1915 and re-enlisted September 1916
